Hello, I'm Tony Hawkins.  Thank You for taking the time to get to know a little about me and why I would like to be your choice for Trustee.

I have worked in healthcare for more than 25 years and am well-experienced in a variety of fields including working as a Certified Home Health Aide and Physical Rehabilitation Aide.  Most recently, working as a member of the Lift Team, I have 10+ years of experience as a Senior (Lead) Lift Technician.  Altogether, I have 12+ years of experience as a Senior.  My certifications include First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Basic Life Support (BLS).  I'm also a Stop the Bleed Instructor.

While performing my roles, I have worked closely with my coworkers within the inpatient care.  Together, we have served on Unit Based Teams (UBT) that have resulted in various workplace improvements.  I have a proven record of successful collaboration with department management in the daily operation of the inpatient care and lift team.

I believe strongly in creating positive change by volunteering in the community.  I performed as a Strike Captain during our recent strike at KP and stood with nurses during their informational picket.  I have continuously served as a member of the San Diego Presbytery since 2010 and the Board of Directors for the Women and Men Civic League of San Diego starting in 2011.  I also serve on the Racial Justice for San Diego since 2022.  Additionally, I work with many community groups including UCSA Life, Cooper's Family Foundation, Black Nurses Association, and the San Diego Black Police Association.

In Solidarity,

Tony Hawkins
